Hi, I’m Josiah. I help actors deepen their craft, navigate their blocks, and remember why they fell in love with this work to begin with. My classes are grounded in rigorous technique and freewheeling fun.
I’m on faculty in the MFA Acting program at Brooklyn College, HB Studio, and the Yale Summer Session, and offer private classes and coaching. Students and clients have gone on to book roles in major feature films, Broadway, recurring roles on TV, and earn places in some of the world’s top conservatory programs.

Josiah is an ass kicker of a teacher. Not only does he kick ass (as in he is a wonderful teacher), he knows the material backwards and forwards, challenging his students to do the same, and he brings an unrivaled amount of enthusiasm for the process that makes each rehearsal exciting and new. He is a constant reminder that all of you is a part of the work — your body, your heart, your eyes, your ears, your mind — all of you must be brought to the table to do your best. Josiah teaches that risking failure, braving through the scary things, and putting all of yourself out there is exactly what we need to do. Beyond the teaching though, Josiah is also a wonderful listener. He’s thoughtful, insightful, and takes care of his students. He’s a human and he understands that you are too.
